Feathers are horny formations and evolved from the scales of reptiles. These are two-dimensional and are located in the outer area of the down, to protect it against impacts. Feathers are curved, which is why they are ideal as pillow stuffing, to support the neck, because under the influence of pressure, the pillows will try to return to their natural shape.
Duvets and pillows should be shaken daily to maintain the shape of the filling, as well as the strength of the down and pillows.
Avoid vacuuming or beating the duvet, as you may damage the down or feathers. If the comforter is machine washable, follow the instructions carefully and make sure it is completely dry before using it again.
The bedroom should be properly ventilated daily and the bedspread should not it must be placed on top of the quilt in a few hours. Thus, the moisture can evaporate, and the duvet remains airy and fresh.
To make the down or feathers return to their original shape, you can spin dry the duvet or pillow for a few hours, possibly together with a tennis ball or rubber shoe, to make sure the down or feathers are seated correctly. It's a good idea to take the duvet and pillow out of the car every fifteen minutes and shake them out.
